Role Overview:
The Senior Validation Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing test strategies for advanced semiconductor products, ensuring they meet stringent performance, quality, and reliability standards. This role includes close collaboration with design teams to troubleshoot issues, validate specifications, and enhance test protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop validation methodologies and test plans for high-speed, high-precision analog and mixed-signal circuits, focusing on robustness and fault tolerance.
- Lead hands-on characterization of integrated circuits (ICs), defining measurement setups for metrics like signal integrity, timing, jitter, and power consumption.
- Utilize advanced EDA tools (Cadence, Mentor Graphics, or Synopsys) for post-silicon validation, simulation, and analysis.
- Automate validation processes using scripting (Python, TCL, Perl), ensuring consistency in test execution.
- Conduct thorough root-cause analysis on performance issues, collaborating with design teams to implement corrective measures and improve yield.
- Compile detailed validation reports and communicate test results to stakeholders, translating technical insights into actionable recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in semiconductor validation engineering, preferably in analog or mixed-signal devices.
- Expertise with validation and EDA tools, and scripting languages like Python or Perl.
- Strong understanding of test methodologies, with a focus on ensuring quality standards.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of IC testing equipment and familiarity with large-scale production testing in high-performance environments.
- Proven experience in project collaboration and communication with cross-functional teams.
