Role Overview:
As the Technical Lead for the Microelectronics Systems ASIC Team, you will lead the design and prototyping of innovative electro-optical communication systems—from concept to tape-out and system-level integration. Your primary focus will involve developing active optical cables and integrating optical transceivers while ensuring high performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of advanced optical systems, including transmitter/receiver modules and electronics for Active Optical Cables (AOCs).
- Spearhead ASIC integration with high-speed PCBs, implementing control protocols such as I2C, SPI, or UART.
- Ensure optimal performance, reliability, and manufacturability across all designs from concept to prototype.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field with a focus on microelectronics or photonic circuits (mandatory).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in design with a proven track record leading projects from concept to tape-out.
- Proven technical leadership in electronics and optics throughout the entire design process.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a drive to innovate in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
- Project management skills and experience with cross-disciplinary team collaboration.
Compensation:
- Base Salary: $200,000 – $250,000 CAD, depending on experience.
