Chief Financial Officer

Description

The Chief Financial Officer leads and oversees all financial and accounting activities for the organization. Responsible for forecasting the organization’s financial standing based on financial and operational data and reports. Makes strategic recommendations to executive leadership, the CEO and board in alignment with their mission, culture, standards, and best practices.

  • Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
  • Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
  • Reviews planning process and suggests improvements to current methods.
  • Analyzes operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.
  • Works with the CEO and other senior executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
  • Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
  • Identifies opportunities for expansion into new product areas.
  • Oversees investment of funds and works with investment bankers to raise additional capital required for growth or expansion.
  • Oversees Accounting department, budget preparation, and audit functions.
  • Partners with department leaders to consistently implement standards and best operational practices in alignment with Company strategic goals.
  • Oversees the attracting, recruiting, onboarding, developing, and retention team members and management. Builds and develops relationships with all employees.
  • Maintains an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with Company policies.
  • Keeps commitments and keeps CEO informed of work progress, timetables, and issues.
  • Maintains strict compliance with State, Federal and other regulations (e.g., OSHA, WC, HIPAA, ADA, FEHA, DOL, HR policies and practices).
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

  • Ability to develop trusting, mutually respectful relationships with professionals.

Strategic Planner

  • Assesses and deploys resources to meet annual budgets.
  • Builds business and leadership skills of others to take appropriate action to generate positive cash flow.
  • Proficient knowledge of operational processes and best practices.
  • Proficient in the office level financials and balance sheets.
  • Become Expert in Care Cloud Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or applicable system.
