Mackenzie Stuart is partnered with an innovative, leading dietary supplement contract manufacturer who are looking for an Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S) Director to join their expanding team in Florida.
As the EHS&S Director, you will develop and monitor the company’s health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulations.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead EH&S initiatives to achieve quality and financial goals.
- Inspect work areas and equipment for compliance with safety regulations.
- Document safety inspections, highlight hazards, and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage PPE supply and training for availability.
- Evaluate manufacturing tasks and suggest modifications or necessary PPE.
- Promote a “Safety First” culture and ensure employee awareness of safety protocols.
- Prepare reports and fulfil regulatory reporting requirements (Fire, OSHA, EPA).
- Design processes to protect workers from hazards and review incoming materials (SDS).
- Oversee environmental projects, including sustainability and carbon reduction efforts.
- Deliver workplace safety training as required by regulations.
- Investigate incidents to prevent future occurrences and report safety data.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the COO.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with minimum 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- In-depth knowledge of developing and managing a comprehensive EH&S program, including employee training design.
- Proficient in conducting EH&S assessments to identify hazards and implementing appropriate control measures.
- Extensive understanding of accident investigations and workplace safety audits.
- Strong grasp of environmental health and safety principles, regulations, and practices, combined with leadership skills in organizing, planning, budgeting, and coordinating workloads to meet deadlines.
- Quick learner with the ability to understand and apply new concepts effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
