Job Summary:
The Regional Operations Director-Ohio will play a vital role in overseeing the operational performance and strategic growth of the ophthalmology practices In the Ohio market. This position will be responsible for managing and optimizing the financial, administrative, and operational aspects of multiple practices, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of ophthalmology practice management, and a proven track record in driving operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Practice Management: Provide guidance and direction to practice managers or site managers in all aspects of daily operations, including financial management, staffing, patient scheduling, billing, and collections.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance practice efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
- Regional Growth: Collaborate with the COO and executive team to develop and execute strategic plans for practice growth within the designated region, including market analysis, new practice acquisitions, and expansion initiatives.
- Staff Development: Recruit, train, and mentor practice managers to ensure a high-performing and motivated team. Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to drive professional development and enhance employee engagement.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensure that all practices within the region adhere to relevant healthcare regulations, licensing requirements, and industry best practices. Implement and monitor compliance programs to mitigate risks and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Vendor and Supplier Management: Collaborate with the Clinical Support Center to oversee relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to negotiate favorable contracts, optimize purchasing strategies, and ensure the availability of necessary equipment, supplies, and resources.
- Communication and Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration between practice and site managers, clinicians, administrative staff, and other stakeholders to streamline operations and ensure consistent service delivery across the region.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor financial performance, review financial reports, and help to develop budgets in collaboration with practice managers and COO. Identify opportunities to increase revenue, reduce costs, and improve financial outcomes.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of patient care, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. Address any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in ophthalmology practice management. Lead and support process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and patient experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive management experience in healthcare operations, preferably within ophthalmology or a related specialty.
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmology practice management, including revenue cycle management, coding and billing, EMR systems, and industry regulations.
- Proven track record in successfully managing multiple practices, driving operational performance, and achieving financial targets.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel within the designated region as required.
