Position Overview: They are looking for an accomplished Vice President of Operations with a proven track record in the Building Materials industry, specifically within the Roofing sector. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of operational expertise, strategic vision, and leadership skills to our organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Operations will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the roofing operations, optimizing processes, enhancing efficiency, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive operational strategies aligned with the company’s overall goals and objectives. Provide guidance and direction to cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline operations, improve workflows, and enhance productivity across the entire roofing product lifecycle, from sourcing raw materials to product delivery.
- Supply Chain Management: Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to ensure timely procurement of raw materials, efficient inventory management, and effective distribution of roofing products to meet customer demands.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and uphold rigorous quality standards for roofing products, working closely with Quality Control teams to ensure products meet or exceed industry regulations and customer expectations.
- Financial Management: Oversee operational budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining a high level of product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing operations team. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning to drive employee engagement and development.
- Vendor and Partner Relationships: Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors, and partners to negotiate favourable terms, ensure reliable service, and drive mutual growth opportunities.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data and key performance indicators to assess operational performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions that drive efficiency improvements.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines in all operational activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
